US slaps new sanctions against Iran crackdown officials, entities

Iran, May 30, 2018 - The U.S. Treasury Department has levelled new sanctions today targeting Iranian regime individuals, entities and senior officials involved in human rights violations, censorship and enhanced monitoring by its vast crackdown apparatus.
Six officials and three state entities are now blacklisted, including Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison where tens of thousands of political prisoners have been executed through the past four decades, including 30,000 members and sympathizers of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in a span of a few months in the summer of 1988 in which a majority of them were executed in the Evin Prison.
Heads of Iran’s state TV/radio IRIB, the regime’s club-wielders Ansar-e Hezbollah and a variety of officials specifically involved in imposing internet censorship on the country’s very restive population.
This slate includes:
  • Abdulali AliAsgari, an Iranian regime media executive and the current director-general of Iran's IRIB. The head of this highly sensitive entity is appointed directly by Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
  • Hossein Allahkaram, an ultraconservative figure and former military officer, heads the coordination council of Iran's Ansare Hezbollah, an entity dispatched to quell anti-regime protests.
  • Abolhassan Firouzabadi is Secretary of Iran's Supreme Council of Cyberspace
  • Abdolsamad Khoramabadi chairs Iran's Commission to Determine the Instances of Criminal Content
  • Abdolhamid Mohtasham, head of the oppressive Ansare Hezbollah
  • Hamid Ostad, a senior Ansare Hezbollah member
  • Ansare Hezbollah, a suppressive plainclothes organ on duty to crackdown anti-regime protests.
  • Hanista Programming Group, the developer of the Mobogram spyware (associated to the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards) and used to detain numerous human rights activists & dissidents. The Iranian opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) U.S. Representative Office held a conference just months ago unveiling the secrets about this group.

The U.S. Treasury Department’s statement accuses Ansar-e Hezbollah of grave human rights violations and accuses Hanista of blueprinting and developing Mobogram and Moboplus to place internet users under surveillance and provide their information to the Iranian regime’s security and judiciary apparatus.
The fragile Iranian regime is feeling the deep impact of ongoing, crushing sanctions.
