Iran: Aliyeh Aghdam-Doost amongst the Detainees of Nationwide Teachers’ protests
Aliyeh Aghdam-Doost was transferred to Evin’s court in the morning of May 11, 2018, with cuffed hands and feet. She was among those arrested on Thursday, May 10, in the teachers’ protest gathering outside the Budget and Planning Organization in Tehran.
Ms. Aghdam-Doost, a retired teacher and social media activist, had been also arrested on May 1, 2018, during the workers’ demonstrations in front of the mullahs’ parliament, Majlis. Some other women were also arrested along with her, including Tahmineh Khosravi, a retired textile factory employee, and a woman identified as Asgari, who were subsequently freed on bail.
On Thursday, May 10, 2018, Iran’s teachers, women and men, held protests in at least 32 cities of Iran outside the education departments and at two locations in Tehran outside the Majlis and the Budget and Planning Organization.
In Tehran, the State Security Force (SSF) raided the gathering outside the Budget and Planning Organization, beating and arresting a number of protesters, especially women.
