Air Base in Kucova, Koci: Albania Has an Important Role

Deputy
Minister of Defense, Petro Koci, has reacted on Monday after the news that
Prime Minister Edi Rama said that in Kucova, NATO will build an air base in the
Western Balkans.
According
to him, this project demonstrates the weight and priority that Albania
represents for security and peace in the region."The
development of Kucova Air Base under the auspices of NATO to become a
contemporary base for support purposes is a major political and military
investment. This base, as the first of its kind in the Western Balkans,
demonstrates the weight and priority that Albania represents for security and
peace in the region as well as the growth of NATO presence in our region in
response to the role of the Euro-Atlantic interests of countries such as Russia
. Meanwhile, this modernization will increase the military capabilities of our
Air Force," said Koci.
