 Trump Says Iran in Turmoil Since US Withdrew From Nuke Deal
(AFP) - US President Donald Trump asserted Monday that Iran was being roiled by nationwide riots since he pulled out of an international nuclear deal and that Washington supports the protesters.
"It is not good for us or for the world, but they have riots in all their cities," Trump told Fox News.
"The inflation is rampant, going through the roof. And not that you want to hurt anybody, but that regime wouldn't let the people know that we are behind them 100 percent.
• Iraqi protester set Khamenei’s banner ablaze in Basra
July 17, 2018 - Social media activists reported on Monday that, during their protests, the people of Basra, Iraq, had set ablaze large banners of Ruhollah Khomeini and Ali Khamenei, the original founder and the current supreme leader of the Iranian regime. The protesters also religious authorities to issue a fatwa against politicians who have ties with the Iranian regime.
Basra, a province south of Iraq, has a majority Shiite population and the Iranian regime boasts of having a large base of support there. It is one of the many southern provinces that have recently seen unrest due to the lack of public services and an expansion of corruption in government institutions.
• Eight women were among the arrested members of a modeling network
Eight women were among the arrested members of a modeling network in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran. The SSF Commander of Hormozgan announced this on Monday, July 16, 2018.
Azizollah Maleki announced the arrest of 46 members of a modeling network; eight women were among the arrested members of the network.
• Protest by Plundered Investors Of Caspian Credit Institution In Rasht, Iran Demanding Return Of Deposits
On Tuesday, July 17, 2018, a crowd of looted investors of the Caspian Credit Institute affiliated with the IRGC held a protest in front of a branch of the institute in Rasht, Iran.
The protesting crowd, who were mostly women, chanted:
– “It is the day of mourning today, the result of our life is under the mullah’s turban today”
– “The Larijani brothers are thieves, our parliament is a thief, our government is a thief”
– “It is enough, shame on you, give us our money”
• Looted Depositors Of Caspian Credit Institution Protest In Tehran
On Tuesday, July 17, 2018, the looted depositors of the Caspian Credit Institute launched a protest rally in front of this institute’s branch on Tehran’s Sohroodi Street.
The looted and plundered victims of the Credit Institute in Iran have repeatedly protested for their deposits, but each time the officials of the justice department, Governor’s office and the Caspian Institute refer the issue to one another in order to not address the people’s demands.
